Missing footage when recording to a usb hard drive

Issue:
When recording to a usb hard drive, 2 minutes of footage are missing every 5 minutes.

Solution:
On the camera web interface, go to Network > Advanced TCP/IP, and disable "Network Connection Check Settings".
