Q: Software gives out a "Direct draw overlay failed" message?
A1: This message indicates that the VGA card or its driver is unable to support the specific direct draw overlay function our software requires.
User may attempt on the followings:
1. Update the driver of the VGA card. 2. Update Microsoft Direct X to the latest. 3. Use another VGA card.
When direct draw overlay function is unable to the Main System software, functions such as DSP overlay, and full screen will not be made available in the software. The message however will not stop the software from running or recording.

A1: The main system application will give out this message when there is not enough disk space left for system log to store the database files.
To solve the problem, please change the log storage location for system log under system log setting to a different partition or disk drive.

A1: If you install a GV-Combo card (GV-1120/1240/1480), and there is no DSP overlay option in the configure menu, please check the followings:
1. Please make sure you updated DirectX 9.0 in the system. 2. Please make sure the VGA card supports directdraw. 3. Please check whether you enabled "Spot Monitor" function, enabling this function will disable DSP overlay in the main system.

- One or more Multicam files are corrupted. Reinstall GeoVision Multicam software from disk.
